The translation of the words Krav Maga means "close combat". The emphasis is on neutralizing an attack or a threat from close distance. It also teaches you how to stop an assailant right up on you with a weapon. I want to learn this, too! Looks like one of the most effective martial arts of all, and would definitely serve you better than just knowing karate or boxing!
